“Folks, we stand here on the other side of destruction having averted the end of the world. And the path hasn't been easy, and we've lost people along the way. But without their efforts we wouldn't be standing here today.

“I know there's talk about going into the Sky. And I can't rightly abide by that. I have and always will have a disdain for technology. It's sending ships to the stars that got us into this mess to begin with. There are some things people just weren't meant to do.

“But I'd like to invite you all to make a life here, with me. We can try to create something better than what's been and something better than we left behind.”
