Many argue that the armourascal was the first of Aretz's species to be domesticated by the Dunians. Records state that as early as half a year after the Dunians began regaining their memories one member befriended a young armourascal and raised it, aiding others in doing the same. The records suggest they were tamed for the purpose of companionship, but soon were found to be useful for assisting in construction, guarding, tracking and combat, which lead to breeding progr…

We’ve heard rumours about what combining Heizar and Dunian technology can do and this has outdone them all. This latest technological marvel from Alex himself fuses the dense energy storage and release aspects of Dunian tech with the waveform manipulation crystal ideas from Heizar tech. The result is fantastic. A device the size and weight of a heavy backpack is capable of releasing a steady ou…

From the Smallest Beginnings

An often wrongly overlooked contribution to Monument's early infrastructure was the farm. While various gardens sprung up as the early denizens of Monument strove to grow their own food, it was Rain and Clover Leaf who both started to develop many of the farming techniques still in use today. Especially notable is the development of the greenhouse, a large glass structure which allows crops to be grown in climate controlled conditions where…

With every new building, the south of Monument is swallowing up the dust of its old ruins. Plenty of enterprising citizens are offering up their ideas of where everyone ought to be, but Con of all people knows they'll have their blind spots. She goes to the biggest one she can find, at Monument’s fringe, and makes her home there.

Dunian Pioneers

The hexat and the fluffin are both Dunian species, brought over on Monument to serve specific purposes for the new colony. On the flora side, the same can be said of the coverleaf, poisonpole and kingseed

The hexats' role was pest control and companionship, much like cats are in real life. Which only makes sense when you consider the fact that I based them off of cats, as I'm sure you've all noticed. They began life as simply a six legged cat species, but then …

She is my favourite person in history because she helped to protect a lot of people but some people say she was bad because they did not want her to protect them. An Announcement

It is with great pleasure that I am able to announce the formation of the New Monument Government. The recent near-disaster has proven that in times of great need, we can unite and make great things happen. So today all the disparate groups who have tried to run our beloved city in their own way have come together with the singular purpose of turning Monument into a city we can be proud of.

The first few years after formal diplomatic talks between Dunians and Heizar were always going to be tense. Initially the Dunians moved out of old Monument, and a large area between the two cities was formed as a no-go Zone for temporary diplomatic security. The majority of Dunians stayed in this city, though some emigrated to the Commune - a new settlement formed against the rising prevalence of laws in Monument, and based in an abandoned Heizar city to the North past the mountains.
