Idan's Ramblings: They're one of the Dunian species you brought with you, their quick reproduction and growth meaning a small population can rapidly grow and feed a colony. I originally planned on adding a larger cow-like animal that was brought over and will go extinct because their hooves are terrible for city rubble terrain, but decided against it. Mostly because I didn't like any design I could come up with (but somehow I was fine with “basically a rabbit”).
